Out of my Body – in Reality

Out of my Body – in Reality

It was the morning, maybe 9 or 10 am. My parents had planned to go out early to run some errands, which we had discussed the previous night. By this time they would have already left. After waking up I found myself still very, very tired and I allowed myself to fall back asleep. In doing so, I became conscious of some familiar sensations attributed to out-of-body experiences - I felt very heavy yet very light and I felt gentle electric-like pulses running through my body. Very soon after the onset of these sensations I knew it was time to get up - not up in the physical world - up outside my body in the astral plane!

I sat up in bed and looked around. Everything was very blurry and dark. I tried to get out of bed, but I felt like I weighed a million tons, so this was a real struggle. But with some well-directed efforts I managed to get out of bed and see clearly.

I stood on my carpet staring at the closed blind of my window. I was indecisive about what to do. I was out of my body and wanted to make the most of it... then I abruptly jumped into the air and glided right through the blind and window to land outside my house. This surprised me because in a previous OBE I wasn't able to pass through my door and instead had to open it, yet here I just jumped through a window, no problem.

It was a bright and sunny day, with just a couple of clouds in the sky. I could feel the sun on my shoulders, the air on my skin, and I could even smell what was around me. I was standing on the pavement. There was a plant pot sitting next to me, which I didn't expect. In truth, the pot was usually there but I never paid much attention to it. I was pleased with this observation as I felt it showed some objectivity of the astral plane in that I could see more than what I'd normally expect to see. My experiences weren't just stemming from my imagination.

My attention then turned to the driveway. I could see our Honda Accord sitting there. I was a tad perplexed, because it shouldn't have been there; my parents were supposed to be out and I thought they'd take the car. But I didn't fuss much over this and I explored the astral a bit more ...

I woke up in bed after my explorations and got up right away, this time, in the physical world. I felt invigorated after traveling beyond my body. My parents were in fact home - they were running late. I went outside quickly to see if what I'd seen was legitimate. It was! The sun was out, shining brightly with just a few clouds; the plant pot was right outside my window and the car was parked in the driveway - everything was exactly the same as I'd experienced when outside my body. From this I knew the astral was real.

once I felt same way like

once I felt same way like you - I live in Bulgaria I have been learning out of body and once i felt my astral body in Manhathan in the downtown - among the cars and the traffics all the noise before i dreamed to go in NY now i saw something in NY that scared me instead of get happy I got scared - the so much noise im not used to lol and people there walking so much crowd, and i felt like unsecured there - in such big place with so much traffic you can make car accident like and nobody will stop to help - maybe in reality NY isnt like this but in this OBE it looked like this nobody saw me i was like ghost but I still dream to go in NY i use to go astral there around the white bridge - I feel i have some connection to the bridge and place around it like i been there before these OBEs

I have only had an OBE once.

I have only had an OBE once. I was very sick, and everything was everywhere. i started to get out of bed. i was feeling minor blindness and was hearing these wierd poping and crackling noises. (i was thirsty, hoping to get a glass of water) after moving away from my bed a bit, things started to clear up, the noises stopped. i looked back to see what was making the noise. i saw myself still in te bed. for a moment i thought i had died, but i was alive. i walked around as if in a trance for a while, then went back to bed, woke up (for real), and got some medicine before sleeping again... very bizzare.

i felt too ill to go anywhere though.

i had a obe recently, it was

i had a obe recently, it was absolutely fantastic, but scary, see in the morning, i reach this state where im awake, but not, kinda hard to explain, but i dunno, when i reach this state, i always just slide out of my body 'knowingly' i guess im one of the lucky spirits, who dont have to go through all those symptoms to have an obe. back to the point, that morning i just came out of my body, and i floated beside my desk, wich eventualy faded away, and i was in this '300' looking place, and these souldiers where all pointing to the sky, and they where nealing, and i was in-between them, they didnt say anything, but be still, and for a moment i sat there staring, but i thaught it was time to go, because i wasnt sure, if this place was safe, so i kinda wished maself back to my body, i dont think i was quite in the astral though, but more in the dream realm, or the etheric mabe. great experiance, cant wait to be able to fully journey around.

Hi Bistra, That sounds

Hi Bistra,

That sounds like a really interesting experience. It could very well have been New York - I've never been but what you described sounds like the general stereotype that I hear, here in Canada. I hope your astral travels go well and that you one day make your trip in the physical as well :)

Hi cthultu,

Your first experience there, although unexpected, gave you first hand knowledge of an existence beyond this world. Sometimes it can seem bizarre but with more experiences, we see these OBEs as a very natural part of life. I hope that you're able to enjoy more of these wonderful experiences.

Hi Jahfonde,

That definitely was an astral experience you had. The astral plane is also the realm of our dreams. In your case it sounds like there may have been some dream images clouding it. With practice we can learn to see the astral more objectively and get clear of the dream images.

Don't worry about danger; nothing can physically harm us in the astral - we'll always wake up in the morning unharmed. Our astral body is made of different matter than our physical body. All the best in your future experiences!

Hey Mando, Although you

Hey Mando,

Although you may be in a dream, it's really great to realize you are dreaming. Dreams take place in the Astral plane, too, but in order to have a conscious OBE we need to break out of the dream scenes to see things objectively.

The next time you find yourself in that dreaming state, but aware of dreaming, I'd suggest you try to become aware of your environment and the information from your five senses: the feeling of the environment, what is around you, etc. Also, try to be psychologically detached from what you see (this helps us to get free of the dream imagery). The dream images should then disappear and you'll be conscious in an objective location in the Astral plane.

You can astral project (everyone has the potential) but often much effort is required to get there. If you keep up with your attempts to project, and try to really investigate how you can improve your practices, it's only a matter of time. I would also suggest the dreams and out-of-body experiences course here; it was tremendously beneficial for me when I wanted to learn to project.

All the best in your practices!

Mike

hi mikel i have been having obes for many years at first i feared them my obes start with me being awake but tired i get a sudden downward force almost as if somebody is pushing me down (this is the bit i always feared) then one night i decided to not to fear it (that wasnt easy) but did succeed as soon as i felt as if i was being pushed down i relaxed and immediately left my body i could observe my surroundings in great detail and then found myself outside my house it was brief but an amazing feeling, my last obe was 3 weeks ago and the best one ever i have recently moved home and live by a river in  cheshire uk i found myself in the river swimming but this time i was not alone there was another person there with me as usual i came back to my body but the other person said it wasnt possible to go back into my body (i then thought oops i was dead) he took me to another place (plain i thinks it felt nice though) there was a lot of people all very happy to see each other it felt good i then found myself visiting friends some of whom i hadnt seen for a long time and some of them could sense my presence without warning i woke up pinched myself just making sure i was still a living body i havent had one since but am going to perfect the technique of doing it more .

Hi Phil, That's great that

Hi Phil,

That's great that you've been projecting very naturally, and even better that you got over your fear and were able to explore the astral. These spontaneous experiences are truly blessings.

Thank you for sharing your most recent experience. It sounds like you saw quite a lot, and evidently that person telling you that you couldn't return was wrong :-)

I wish you much success in your practices!

Mike
