Well, I'm very convinced that I had an astral projection. In fact, I had 2 after my nap today. I'm a little confused though, about verifying things in the astral, and the differences in objects between the physical, and the astral.

My first attempt, I was laying on my bed, napping, and in a dream. My roommate ended up waking me up with the blender, but I was still fairly tired, but aware. I didn't make any effort to open my eyes, and instead tried to fall back asleep. I must have fallen back asleep, but I wasn't sure, because I wasn't getting any dream images, and if I did, they were minor. All that I noticed was I started getting a very strong buzzing sensation. I decided to let it continue, and not wake myself because of it. After a bit, I split from my body. All I know out of my 3-4 astral experiences, is that as you try to split, the buzzing gets stronger, and almost has a certain high-pitched frequency associated with it. It's very easy to wake yourself up because of the intensity of the buzzing as you try to split.

Anyway, I let the buzzing grow, and as it started to subside, that's when I made the push, and was able to fully separate. Unlike my first real AP a few weeks ago, I was able to open my eyes, and look around my room. I went to my door, and the hinge was sideways. Really wierd, because in the physical world it is vertical. The experience was quick, and I was back in my body, still hearing my roommate talking on his phone.

My next experience was very quick. Once I was back in my body from the 1st, I let myself relax again, and the buzzing began to start. This time when I separated, I rolled out of my body, to the floor next to my bed. Just like both experiences, I knew I was either in the astral, or walking around like an idiot with my eyes closed. Well, I opened them again, and I felt like I was in the physical, but a bit different. My roommate was on his bed, talking on the phone, and he didn't notice me walking to the bathroom. Inside the bathroom, I was amazed at how clear the experience was. I do a reality check, and try to fly. Well, that failed, so this time I push my hands against the wall, and they go through. Trying to go through a wall in the astral, compared to a dream, seems to be much harder. Anyway, after confirming I was in the astral, I jump up, and put myself into a hovering arch, much like the position I use for skydiving. Once again, using skydiving positions, I do a 360 to the left, and a 360 to the right. Soon afterwards, I lost the experience somehow, and ended up in a dream.

Now, when I woke up, and went to the bathroom, I noticed a few things. In my experience, the bathroom had tiles across the wall. The sink was on the left, with a mirror above it, and the toilet was on the right, next to the sink, both against the far wall. In reality, the toilet is on the left, and the shower is on the right, against the far wall. The sink is on the right wall. Is it normal for the astral world to have variations as large as this? I remember reading that the astral world is very similar to the physical, but slightly different. My experience did feel like a projection, and was definitely not a dream. Is it possible my subconscious could have rearranged the way the bathroom looked?

"that's when I made the push"

What do you mean, you pushed yourself out with your astral body parts? If I even attempt to move, the physical body moves instead.

Yea, things can get skewed a bit between dimensions. I recall a vivid occasion where machines were operating, and everything was just as it was in the physical but there might be a poster or a window on the wall that isn't there in the physical world.

What technique do you use?

By what I mean by making the push, is more of a mental push. I've done various techniques in the past in which I've tried to physically push my astral body out, but as you said, I end up moving my physical body. I guess it's sort of like flying in the astral. I mentally push my body, and allow it to float away from the physical body.

As for the technique I use, that pretty much is it. I have not successfully projected as I've been falling asleep. My first projection happened by waking out of a dream. The two I had today, were after I awoke, and was tired enough. I just let myself fall asleep, and because I was remaining conscious, I started to get a buzzing sensation. I just relax, and let the sensation continue, until I just sort of know it's time. Once at that point, I let my astral body float away from my physical. I have more success on my stomach, and floating down, than I do on my back, and floating up. On my back though, I have successfully rolled out of my body, but never floated upwards from it.

Hi Ben

That sounds like a great idea to mentally push your astral self out. I must try that. Sometimes I mess it up by trying to get myself out, such as I physically move, too slow or a doubt at the back of my mind.

Thanks
Sally.

Hi Ben

It's Sally again. I just thought of something, that is, if your body is paralised for a short while, can you still mentally get your astral self out or do you have to wait for the paralised stage is finished?

Thanks,
Sally.

Hi Sally!

I wait for the paralysis stage to finish, although I don't necessarily observe it happening. When I know it's not time, I just let the buzzing continue, and relax. As the buzzing continues, I notice I cannot feel my body as well. When the buzzing and/or paralysis is at it's strongest point, you shouldn't feel your physical body, but instead your astral body. It is at this time, that I mentally push myself out and away from my body.

Hope that helps! I've been trying to project for over a year now, and just this past month I've been getting the most success.

Hi Ben

Thanks for your reply. You helped a lot. I am wondering what category I am in. I do not think I am sheep or a sheepdog but I do protect my family. Perhaps I am a wolve but what is a wolve.

Just curious,
Thanks Sally.

A wolf? Similar to a dog, but very manacing. A predator in the animal world.

To determine what kind you are, you just need to think about yourself. You say you protect your family, but to what extent? Are you willing to throw the highest amount of violence in as short of time as possible in order to keep them safe, or if encountered in a situation, would you call the police, military, are somebody else over that has a capacity for violence.

Nobody that's a sheep or sheepdog wants violence. The wolf is the kind of person who doesn't care. An aggressive socialpath, with no mercy. Only a sheepdog can fight a wolf, and win. To read more about it, just google, "Dave Grossman on Sheep, Wolves, and Sheepdogs."
